“Revolution Through Her Voice: Transnational Dialogues on Women’s Cultural Resistance.”

Zona Sur is collaborating with Denisse Lazo-González from the University of Reading, UK, on a project funded by the British Academy titled “Revolution Through Her Voice: Transnational Dialogues on Women’s Cultural Resistance.” The project is conceived as a methodological laboratory that brings together academic research and creative practice to explore ethical, aesthetic, and archival approaches to women’s audiovisual cultural heritage and its transnational transmission. As creative partner, Zona Sur contributes to the design and implementation of this research-led laboratory, working at the intersection of filmmaking, archival thinking, and critical cultural heritage research. The collaboration reflects a shared commitment to strengthening dialogue between Latin America and Europe while advancing feminist cultural memory through innovative, practice-based methodologies. The research aligns with broader academic work examining the political role of narrative and film in Latin American contexts and the cultural representation of women within these traditions.
