ZonaSur Cinema Club

ZonaSur Cinema Club is a monthly film club organised by ZonaSur Cinema Productions in partnership with Curio Books & Culture, dedicated to showcasing the cinema of Latin America and the Caribbean.

The club's mission is to build audiences for films that reflect the rich diversity of Latin American cultures and languages. Through carefully curated screenings, it seeks to promote greater understanding of these cultures while supporting and raising the profile of Latin American filmmakers in the UK.

The programme , curated  by Lorena Briscoe takes place monthly at Common Ground, Oxford, a café and co-working space that is home to Curio Books & Culture. Each event features a short film followed by a feature film by another Latin American director. Screenings are followed by a panel discussion with invited experts, who explore the films' themes and engage in conversation with the audience.

ZonaSur Cinema Productions, founded by Lorena Briscoe, creates work across film and the performing arts. The company produces artistic content informed by social and political observation, with a commitment to promoting peace, dialogue, and cultural understanding between the UK and Latin America. Curio Books & Culture is an independent bookshop and cultural space located in the basement vault of Common Ground in Oxford. Founded by Nick Hagan, it hosts a wide range of literary and cultural events. More information can be found at @Curio Books & Culture
